Jan Färjh
Jan Färjh, Vice President Head of Ericsson Research, is heading Ericsson's global research organization.
Jan Färjh took his M.Sc in telecommunication at the royal institute of Technology in Stockholm, 1985. After his graduation he developed signal processing algorithms for airborne radar systems. In 1990 he joined Ericsson and started to work with radio access technologies. He has a strong background in wireless research and was part of Ericsson's pioneering activities in WCDMA in the early 90's. In 1996 he became manager of the unit responsible for radio access research. The research performed in this unit has substantially contributed to the evolution of WCDMA, HSPA and 3G LTE, technologies that today provide Mobile Broadband on global base. In 2007 he became Global Head of Ericsson Research. Ericsson Resarch is a global organisation present in North America, Europe and Asia. Ericsson Research consists of 600 researchers in 10 different countries and are responsible for technology research in areas such as wireless, transport, packet, services, software, multimedia, security emf safety and sustainability.

Catarina Wretman
Catarina Wretman, Deputy Director-General, The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS)
Catarina Wretman is deputy Director General at the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS). She holds a M.Sc. in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
Previously she has been head of the Spectrum Management Department and Frequency Management Department at PTS where she has been responsible for policy and rules for the frequency spectrum, frequency planning, granting of licences for individual radio transmitters and licences following an open invitation; for example by auction. She has been involved in the work of ITU, CEPT and other international organizations since 1992 and has been a member of the Radio Spectrum Policy Group for many years.
She is also a member of the Advisory Council of the Swedish Data Inspection Board.

Petri Mähönen
Petri Mähönen, Institute for Networked Systems (RWTH) Aachen
Petri Mähönen is currently a full professor and head of the Institute for Networked Systems at the RWTH Aachen University. He joined to RWTH Aachen in 2002 as the holder of Ericsson endowed chair of wireless networks. He has studied and worked in the United States, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. Dr. Mähönen's present research interests include cognitive wireless networks, embedded intelligence, network architectures, network science, and more generally optimized and adaptive communications systems. Apart of academic publishing, he has been a part of teams who have patented and successfully technology transferred technology for industrial use. In 2006 he was awarded Telenor research prize. He is also participating as a principal investigator and research area coordinator in the Ultra High Speed Mobile Information and Communications (UMIC) research centre at RWTH Aachen. One of the German research excellence clusters, which are funded by German Federal and State Governments. He is currently serving as an associated editor for IEEE Transaction of Mobile Computing, and as an area editor for Computer Communications. In 2010, he served as co-TPC chair for IEEE DySPAN 2010, and as co-general chair and local organized for IEEE DySPAN 2011.
Marja Matinmikko
Marja Matinmikko, VTT, Technical Research Centre of Finland
Marja Matinmikko received her M.Sc. degree in industrial engineering and management and Lic.Sc. degree in telecommunications from University of Oulu, Finland, in 2001 and 2007, respectively. She is currently finalizing her Ph.D. thesis on spectrum availability detection methods for cognitive radio systems (CRS). She joined VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in Oulu, Finland, in 2001 and is currently working as senior scientist and project manager in CRS. She participated in the CEPT and ITU-R studies on spectrum demand calculation for IMT-Advanced in preparation for the World Radiocommunication Conference in 2007 (WRC-07) that made new spectrum available for the mobile service. She is currently the chairman of CRS studies at ITU-R WP5A. She is leading a national project consortium on Cognitive Radio Trial Environment (CORE) in the Finnish Trial program of Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation. She is also management committee (MC) member of COST Action IC0905 TERRA where she is vice-chair of WG2 on CR/SDR Co-existence studies. Her current research interests include technical, regulatory and techno-economic aspects of CRS.
